For our members impacted by Hurricane Ike, our thoughts are with you and your families. The Fund will assist in any way possible. Please contact us if you think we might be able to help you in some way. Our loss control consultants are in the field now, assisting members and gathering preliminary information. FEMA may provide reimbursement in several areas including debris removal. Keep records of hours worked by your employees in helping in the recovery process. Also keep receipts, invoices and other documentation related to your use of contractors. Shown below are several links to FEMA forms and information about the process. You may also want to consult with members who went through Hurricane Rita. Several of them recovered significant amounts from FEMA.

The FEMA website includes the following in their section regarding "Federal Aid Programs for Texas Disaster Recovery:"
Assistance for the State and Affected Local Governments Can Include as Required:
- Payment of not less than 75 percent of the eligible costs for removing debris from public areas. (Source: FEMA funded, state administered.)
- Payment of not more than 75 percent of the approved costs for hazard mitigation projects undertaken by state and local governments to prevent or reduce long-term risk to life and property from natural or technological disasters. (Source: FEMA funded, state administered.)
