Coverages
The Fund’s comprehensive liability program – which includes automobile liability (AL), general liability (GL), and public officials errors & omissions liability (E&O) – have been tailored to meet the risk transfer and risk financing needs arising out of exposures commonly faced by Texas water districts and authorities.
The Fund’s coverages continue to evolve based upon the members’ changing needs and new developments in the marketplace. Some examples of optional coverages include defense for public officials when coverage is not available to the district or authority, defense against breach of contract allegations, expanded coverage to include limited damages in employment lawsuits and limited punitive damages coverage.
The Fund offers limit options up to $10 million for all liability lines. Standard deductibles range from $1,000 to $50,000. AL and GL coverage is provided on an “occurrence” basis while E&O coverage is provided on a “claims-made” basis. Defense costs are in addition to the limit of liability for AL, and GL Defense costs are included in the limit of liability for E&O.
