Workers' Compensation

Workers’ compensation covers medical bills and income benefits should an employee sustain an on-the-job injury. The Fund’s goal is to provide the best possible medical care and earliest return to work for the benefit of the injured employee, his or her family and the member. Like standard market insurance companies and other self-insurance pools, the Fund offers workers’ compensation coverage that not only complies with the benefits of the Texas Labor Code  but also strives to provide workers that best care possible.

Workers’ compensation health care services for the Fund are provided by the Political Subdivision Workers’ Compensation Alliance (icon-export PSWCA or the Alliance).

Information on the Alliance Requirements for Employees

The Alliance was formed in 2006 by five risk pools that offer workers’ compensation coverage and claims services to public entities in Texas. Our direct-contracting program is designed to foster cooperative relationships between the providers, adjusters, injured workers, and employers. These materials assist covered injured workers to understand their rights and responsibilities when seeking medical treatment.
